See I am not really sure what she will need to look out for in two months time because I am not there yet. I assume I will have a fish or two, but i am thinking of telling her to just keep the water topped up. Any suggestions?

We've had this coral since Jan. It was open fully for a long time, looking great. But the last 2-3 weeks one half of the bubble is remaining retracted. Googled it, and best answer we came up with is that a crab irritated it, and it is healing itself before it opens.

Any input as to whats going on? I was thinking of changing its location in the tank, but the open half is looking quite happy where its to.

Thanks!
Googled it, and best answer we came up with is that a crab irritated it, and it is healing itself before it opens.

Any input as to whats going on? I was thinking of changing its location in the tank, but the open half is looking quite happy where its to.

Thanks!
Another pic..

Ps, any idea what causes the white spots on the red mushrooms in first pic..?

I know that this is a sort of random and vague question, but I didn't quite know how else to phrase it. I have a simple salt tank and I am trying to decide if I can keep anything like polyps, soft corals, etc... I am also a bit lost on some abbreviations that seem to be commonly used.

So if possibly it would be great if someone could clarify the following abbreviations:
SPS
LPS
FRAGS

Also, my system has 2 x 36" T5 lights on a four foot 55 gallon tank. I was wondering if any of those could be put into my tank. Or if anything that "grows" on rocks can be put in my tank without higher lighting requirements. I know this is highly simplifying the issue, but I am looking for a starting point in a mess of information.

I am close to being ready to add my cleanup crew.

I currently have 1 peppermint shrimp. that's it..

I was looking at Cerith, Nassarius & Astrea snails...unfortunately no one has astrea at the moment. How many should I get I was thinking 12 and 12 of the cerith and nass? Then add in some astrea later ?

What about crabs? I have read sooooo much conflicting stuff on them.
Initially I was thinking 3 blue, 2 scarlet

Lastly, should I add any other shrimp? cleaner shrimp etc?

thanks
